DIY Soft Focus 50/1.8
Wanted a glow lens. Mild soft focus was not enough, so I hacked the worst lens I had, to a single meniscus element DIY lens.
Pentacon 50/1.8 with all but the backmost meniscus lens removed. Focal length remains around 50, a bit less. Focus is possible from 0.5 m to slightly beyond infinity. The Pentacon was a battered one and in general a bad lens to start with. This way it becomes a beautiful soft focus lens with a lot of glow. Dreamy at f/1.8 and rather sharp at center when stopped down. Aperture blades are exposed, but I’ll add an UV filter for protection later.
