DIY bacon whiskey sour

I’ve had these a couple of times in bars. I noticed we had some bacon left over from breakfast and thought I’d give it a go myself. I ground up half a piece of bacon, added the juice from one lemon, 1 tablespoon of raw sugar, and 2oz of Jack Daniel’s. Shook well and strained into a glass over ice. My wife says it "smells like feet" but I think it’s quite nice. The bacon flavor adds kind of a smokey saltiness more than an identifable bacon flavor. Next time I may try 1/4 piece of bacon just to cut back on the bacon aroma a bit. Anyway, a "must try" on any true bacon lover’s list!

PS: I got the idea from this drink I had at a bar in Shanghai. The main difference is that they infuse their whiskey with the bacon rather than mixing the bacon directly into the drink.

A DIY beauty dish flash modifier. The basic plan came from here: http://ift.tt/1llVjfU;

Everything I used was found around the house – an old chinese food container, duct tape, cardboard, foil, and packing tape. When I finished, the light was still kind of harsh, so I added a paper towel to diffuse it.
