Develop your profile with authentic content and use a professional head shot. Be serious about who you connect with and refer. Don’t connect with someone hoping to make a sale immediately. You still must work on developing a relationship and conversation with a person just as you would in any face-to-face networking.

In the last 100 years, women have been able to break away from the stereotypes of domesticity and redefine what women are capable of. The women of today are consistently forging their own path instead of following that of men. In what used to be predominantly a man’s world, women are now reigning supreme. Despite women’s power on society, female presence in the world of technology is definitely lacking. The stereotype still remains that only men are willing and able to work in the field, lead by Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. This notion is likely to change too, as women are beginning to educate one another on the possibilities of working in cyber-space as well as becoming leaders in the industry.

The first step is to educate women and bring awareness about the endless possibilities in the technology industry. For generations, the notion that women are not interested in mathematics and the sciences has remained constant, and the organization Girls Who Code is trying to challenge that idea. The organization is focusing on educating women in low-income areas and allowing them to succeed in an area that is in dire need of a female presence. However, the hardest task is not creating job opportunities, but eliminating the stereotypes held by many for so long. Women today must forge ahead in the hopes of creating a world of technology where they are taken seriously as both collaborators and innovators.

The second step is to have a strong female presence in major Internet companies in order to show both women’s capabilities as well as provide role models for those aspiring to work in the industry. Recently, The Daily Beast released the Digital Power Index, a list of the 100 most influential people in the technology sector. Out of those 100, only seven were women. Not only is it possible, but also necessary to increase the number of women who play an active role in the age of computers, as it will have lasting effects on society. Despite this setback, two women are taking command of the Twitterverse: Katie Jacobs Stanton and Chloe Sladden. Stanton is in charge of the company’s international expansion, and is ranked No. 56 on Forbes’ list of the most powerful women. Since graduating from Colombia, her main focus has been technology and how it can be used as a beneficial tool in the world of politics. Having been at the company since July 2010, her job has centered on Twitter’s role in the Arab Spring, and providing a real outlet for freedom of expression. The second female power player of Twitter is Sladden, director of media partnerships. She is always looking for new ways for Twitter to collaborate with television, celebrities or both. Originally working at a literary agency, she left and entered a world she viewed as the future: interactive television.

Women in the workforce continue to make themselves known, as both legitimate competition for men as well as leaving a lasting imprint on society. In the world of technology, the presence of women is severely lacking, due to long-held stereotypes about women working in the male dominated sector, leading to an absence of females who can be an example for others. Girls Who Code is an organization that focuses on educating young women about coding, and creating opportunities for them to enter the technology workforce. Females continue to persevere to create a future in which women are considered visionaries in the Internet age.

I couldn’t find this on Youtube anywhere so I decided to upload it. The 20 greatest hits from Creedence Clearwater Revival. Good ole CCR. I also added two more songs at the end that I felt should have been on the album. They are Born on the Bayou and The Midnight Special.

Compared to the two previously released Creedence Gold compilations, Chronicle Vol. 1 features all of the group’s charted hits. It is the best-selling album in the Creedence catalog, making 8x Multi-Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. QUESTION: Why should I consider LinkedIn for my business needs?

Answer: Lately, it seems that all of the social media marketing attention is on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and other platforms of note. I’ve not heard a lot of discussion about people using LinkedIn as an effective tool for their business. Yet, I have more than 500 connections and many of my connections have more than 500 connections. What do we do with all of those connections?

First of all, one must consider it as a professional platform rather than a social platform. More importantly, it can be viewed as a virtual networking site that could possibly save you time and money in making those strategic connections that could land you the next deal, help you to find the best qualified employee or assist you in finding a network of support for your specific industry. Finally, LinkedIn can be used as an effective tool in reaching the correct people that will help you take your small business global.

Here are some interesting facts about LinkedIn, provided by bluerisemedia.com:

• 101 million members worldwide

• 47.2 percent from North America, 23 percent from Europe

• 82 percent of consumers trust LinkedIn compared with 23 percent for Facebook

• LinkedIn users are 59 percent female

• Used by 69 of the top 100 Fortune 500 companies

• 50 percent of Fortune 100 companies hire through LinkedIn

Secondly, one should consider how to use it smartly. Develop your profile with authentic content and use a professional head shot. Be serious about who you connect with and refer. Don’t connect with someone hoping to make a sale immediately. You still must work on developing a relationship and conversation with a person just as you would in any face-to-face networking.

Then, identify people in your community and your sphere of influence that you believe would be interesting to meet with. Get connected with them and figure out ways to share some information. Just don’t leave it at “I’d like to add you to my network.” Personalize your message and let them know why you would like to connect with them. Just this last week, I’ve had two business colleagues tell me that they had used LinkedIn to connect with other people in their industry and have already met with them to discuss business opportunities.

Finally, LinkedIn is a perfect way to leverage your personal brand power and your company brand power. It will help you to open doors to new opportunities.

First start of with a design.

I liked my stormtroopers with Kiss make up (i’m pretty sure I’m not the first to do that) but wanted another tee to give to a friend for his birthday. He likes metal/punk and so why not combine the to. Google provided the Misfits Skull, MS Paint provided four of them a couple of pens did the rest.
